Baklava

Baklava is the most famous of Turkish desserts. Although its source, shape and current description were developed during the Ottoman Empire period, it remained from the time of the Byzantine Empire.

Baklava is a dessert made from dough. traditional phyllo leaf of peanuts or almonds or hazelnuts filling rarely prepared in Turkey. City of Gaziantep in southeastern Turkey, is famous for its pistachio Baklava and sees itself as the place where this dessert was born. Although it is found everywhere, it is a very difficult dessert and must be eaten fresh from the oven.

Künefe

Künefe is a dessert that is traditionally eaten in kebab restaurants and is not included in pastry shops as it is a dessert you should eat hot. Initially Turkey’s south shredded wheat, string cheese (mozzarella local version) is made of cheese called butter and sugar syrup. We strongly recommend you to taste one of these beauties with a warm Turkish tea.
