Ephesus Slope Houses Informations
The houses, which are very close to the Celsus Library, are built on 2 floors around an open courtyard. The first construction date is dated to the 1st century AD. First, there were six different living areas in the houses built on three terraces. However, during the period, the structure was extended and the building was used until the city was abandoned.
There are many mosaics on the floors of the houses and marble and frescoes on the walls. The main concern was the use of a central underfloor heating system at that time. The lowest floor and top floor level difference is about 27,5 meters. As I enter, I know that I am facing an interesting building. You cannot hit the ground directly in a very well protected structure. You walk on a platform made of glass to avoid damaging the mosaics on the ground.
